MELE KALIKIMAKA

Welcome to a new challenge for Saturday Spotlight! The challenge is to create with flowers. This week team and I worked with digital images sponsored by Inktegrity. I had this adorable snowman! When I first saw him I immediately thought to make my card "Hawaii" Style.
So I kept the traditional colors for Christmas and was able to find the words Mele Kalikimaka from a rubberstamp that I got from a local stamp, scrap and clothing store called Taj Clubhouse.
I used my circle and scallop circle nestability and cuttlebug folder for the backing of the snowman. The printed paper is from Bo Bunny, flowers from Prima and the green branches are a Martha Stewart punch. Lastly, I added some light blue liquid applique dots to the scalloped circle. Hope you have a chance to create and participate in the challenge with us!

Anything Christmas

Happy Friday! The weekend has finally arrived! I love Christmas and being able to use all of my Christmas crafts that I have gotten throughout the years. The card I made for today is for the Alota Rubberstamps PCP Challenge! Every 2 weeks Alota Rubberstamps has a new challenge and this one is to create a card or project that has anything to do with Christmas. You can purchase this stamp HERE, be sure to check out the latest and cutest holiday stamps too! The new stamps is what the prize is for the winner!!
I wanted to incorporate at least 2 different prints of designer paper to give the card some dimension so I used a red and a green one with different items on them. Being able to use the white helped to separate the 2 and yet bring it all together. To embellish my card I have used my Martha Stewart leaf punch to represent the holly leaves on her apron and used a hole punch to create the holly berries. (Hope you're able to recognize it... LOL!)
Be sure to upload your creation to the Alota Paper Craft Planet Site before December 15th to have a chance at the awesome prize! Have a great day!

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle All The Way!!

It's Day 3 for the opening of the Belles n' Whistles Blog Advent Calendar! Have you been there from the start? If not, don't worry just be sure to head there each day for a chance at something yummy from Santa Summer!! Here is a card I made using one of the many cute stamps from the store called Jingle Bells. I had to have this stamp the first time I saw it! Well, I had to have them all the first time I saw them! LOL!
When making this card I tried to stay away from adding too many embellishments because the image and background paper is already quite detailed. With that in mind I went for the smaller items like the half backed pearls.
These add to the card but don't take away from your focal point. The next thing I really really wanted to use was ribbon, and to use it as a bow. But instead of one I added 2! It was a last minute decision and wasn't sure if I should leave it as 2 but figured it looked ok.
Anyway, just thought I'd give you a little bit of how I piece my card together depending on the type, and size of my stamp. If you were ever wondering what to add to your card, hopefully these tips will come in handy!! Have a wonderful day!!

Two In One

It's hump day and time for a challenge with Flutterby Wednesday and All That Scraps! How adorable is this stamp from All That Scraps, this is Heidi with Ornament. I decided to use her for both challenges to show you how versatile she can be. The challenge for Flutterby Wednesday is open, meaning you can just create a card with either a butterfly, fairy, pixie or angels. The challenge for All That Scraps is to create anything Christmas. To create the snowflake border around my oval nestability I used a Martha Stewart snowflake punch.
I also wanted to try and sponge the background instead of airbrushing it using some distress inks. I now see that I have to stick to my airbrushing instead. I really don't like that you can see how uneven the sponging is. I much rather see it smooth. LOL! Anyway I had to try it out.
Last, I added some glitter to her wings.
Be sure to check out what the Flutterby team and the ATS Wednesday Challenge team has created for more inspiration.
Last but not least, be sure to check out the Belles n' Whistles Blog as we have started our Advent Calendar and the giveaway of a $25 goodie bag each day!! Tomorrow's my turn to post for the advent calendar and hope to see you there! Have an awesome day!!

This is a very light gray that lightly outlines his body.

CC DESIGNS WINTER SUGARPLUMS BLOG HOP!

Welcome to the CC Designs Winter Sugarplums Blog Hop!! The Winter Sugarplums stamp release is so large the entire team is participating in a blog hop to give all of you just a taste of the fabulous creations you can make with these stamps!
If you've just happened across my blog and didn't start at the beginning click HERE!
This is Trevor with Antlers, isn't he adorable! I love the cute antlers on his head and thought that he wasn't complete until I added a dew drop on his nose to represent rudolph the red nosed reindeer.
Here's a close up of Trevor and the dew drop I added as part of his reindeer costume. I love working with all the pretty holiday printed papers and since his sweater has candy canes on it, I had to use paper that had candy canes too. I chose to create an easel card just so I could use the pretty papers to match! Then I added some raffia to accent behind him.
Don't forget to comment! ONE random comment from one of the blog hop posts will be chosen to win the ENTIRE Winter Sugarplums stamp collection!! So make sure to leave a comment on each post to increase your chances of winning!
Thanks for stopping by! Continue the hop by visiting Tracy.

Saturday Spotlight: Hats

Happy Saturday everyone! Today starts a new challenge for Saturday Spotlight which is to create a card or project with hats. I have created a box and belly band then added Santa from High Hopes Stamps to the belly band. I thought Santa was perfect for the hat challenge. =)
Here is a photo of the box closed and with the belly band around it. Pink and black was a color combo I thought went nicely even if it wasn't traditional colors for the holidays.
This is a photo of the box opened up. I loved this box the first time I saw it and had to give it a try. Click HERE for the directions.
I also added some white fun flock to Santa's clothes and his beard to give him a realistic look.
Be sure to check out what the rest of the DT has created and be sure to upload your creation to the blog before next Saturday. Have a great day!
