Worth Repeating

It's time for another Saturday Spotlight Challenge! The challenge this week is to use a stamp several times on your card. My card is of a manga girl, I know she was available a while ago but I have not had the chance to ink her up until now. Isn't she cute! What I did for the challenge was repeatedly stamped the words in the background which say "Thinking of You".
I also got a chance to finally use my nestabilities (Fleur De Lis)! It's been a favorite of mine for sometime now. I colored her in copics, then added some white beads to her blouse.
These are really fun challenges! If you love a challenge, try this one out!
Wishing you a great Saturday!

Rockin' Around

Have you seen this stamp yet? Wondering where it's from? Belles n' Whistles of course! This is called Rockin' Around and it's just one of several stamps that are apart of the first Christmas Collection. If you think this is cute, you're right! But... there's more cuteness in the rest of the release. I decided to create an easel card, it's my first one and I really thought it was going to be hard to create just looking at it but it's the easiest thing ever!
Here is a side view of the card. I made my card a 5x5. So my dimensions for the base of the card was 5"x10" then I scored it at 2.5" then 5". I then cut a separate piece of cardstock at 5x5. That piece is for the front of the card.
Here is what the card looks like from the front while it's opened. If you've never tried making one you should! They are fun!

Look who I found browsing the web yesterday? Yup, this is Sophie my 11 month old Silky Terrier.
I asked her "what are you doing" she turned and I snapped this photo of her! Doesn't she look like she just got caught doing something bad? lol. I just had to share this photo with you!
Hey Kyoko, Sophie says hi!
Have a wonderful Friday! The weekend is here everyone!

New Digis and A Memorial Fundraiser

This week Melissa of Pink Cat Studio has come up with a number of new digital images that you'll want to have. First, a sad story about my fellow DT member Sarah Anderson. Sarah's 3 year old son Henry has passed away due to a virus that he couldn't fight off. So Melissa created this adorable image to raise funds for trees to be planted in his honor at the zoo he visited over the summer. If you'd like to read more about Sarah Anderson, you can visit her blog HERE.
The cards shown below are the new digital images that Melissa created for the holidays for the Pink Cat Studio Digital Store. My first card is of Lily riding a Polar Bear. Isn't that cute! I loved it as soon as I saw it! She of course has created Billy riding a Polar Bear too!
I think I love having pink be apart of Christmas, to me it adds to the softer side of the holiday. The red and green can seem very bold and harsh sometimes.
I've added some white fun flock to Lily's hood and the cuffs of her sleeves and pants.
Here is the polar bear all by himself. My first thought was the coke-a-cola commercial where the bears are all drinking soda! He sure looks like them.
Last but not least, an image that you can use for any occassion. I love how the birds are working together to decorate this cupcake!
I've added some stickles to the layers of the cupcake and some liquid pearls to the scalloped circle.
Thanks so much for stopping by, have a wonderful day!

William and Virginia

Here's a little something for our next holiday...Thanksgiving! This is Virginia and William from Club Anime! Aren't they super cute! I love these Thanksgiving images, you rarely find adorable images for this season. I wasn't able to participate in the blog hop last weekend due to an emergency that a friend had gone through so I am sharing my project with you today.
I have always wanted to use the pumpkin nestabilities that I had for a while but could not find the right way to use it on a card. Just when I saw these new images from Club Anime, I decided to try and create a favor box for each person that will be celebrating Thanksgiving with us. I'm not so sure I will be able to create about 30 of them but we'll see.
To create the box, I had to measure how wide and how deep it should be. It took some time but I was rather pleased with the results. Here are the dimensions for the box. If you'd like the directions send me an email at monkadunka@yahoo.com
I used my Thanksgiving cuttlebug folder that had all these festive words to represent the season and embossed the pumpkin on both sides. To make the words show up better, I sponged some dark orange ink. I've also added a leaf to the top of the pumpkin.

I used some raffia to match the theme and will be adding candy as it gets closer to Thanksgiving. There is currently a sale going on for digital images and a NEW blog for InStyle Stamps too!
There are just so many new and cute things to come and you won't want to miss it! Hope you have a great day, and thanks so much for stopping by!!

Challenge Yourself

Did you enjoy your Halloween? I sure did after spending great quality time with my family and the kids! Last week was a very busy week for me since a friend had to have emergency surgery. I was unable to create or post anything other than the Belles n' Whistles blog hop card.
There are 3 challenges going on right now. The first is the Copic Creations Challenge which is to color red hair.
I chose 60's Tilda and made her hair red using these copic colors: E13,15,17,18,19. Isn't she a cute image? I have finally got to use her! =)
Here is the entire card. I colored her with copics, and glittered her lollipop with stickles, and added some green pearls.

My next card is for the Saturday Spotlight Challenge and I have been chosen to be a guest for the next 3 challenges!! Thanks Vicki, I really enjoy these challenges! The stamps were provided from a company called the Prickley Pear.
I used my cuttlebug folder for the embossed background, brads and pearls for accents. I love the black and red combo, reminds me of Twilight.
There is also another challenge going on and that is for The Roses on Paper/Belles n' Whistles challenge. The challenge is to create a card or project for Christmas.
So many things going on, and with Halloween over... more holiday fun to enjoy!!

BELLES N' WHISTLES HOLIDAY BLOG HOP!!

Welcome to the Belles n' Whistles Holiday Blog Hop! If you have arrived from Anki's blog, or have arrived here on your own, take a moment to go to the Belles n' Whistles blog to start from the beginning! This time the DT and I were to choose a cookie that's made during the holidays to showcase each new image.
This sweet new stamp is called Belle's Carols. The entire stamp has Belle singing Christmas carols to her dolls.
I decided to make a recipe card that stands so you can easily follow it while baking. These are Melting Moments cookies, they are sooooo yummy!! I don't know anyone who doesn't like 'em. I have used Belle all by herself to show you how versatile this stamp can be. Doesn't it look like she is reading the recipe to you?
Here is the entire stamp of Belle singing to her dolls---too cute!! I just love all of the new Christmas stamps that are showcased here today, Elisabeth Bell is a wonderful artist!
I know you want to know how you can get your hands on them!! Well, believe it or not, YOU can win a FREE SET OF STAMPS!! There will not be one, but TWO WINNERS chosen!!
All you need to do is be sure to leave your comment at the end of my post to be eligible!!
These stamps will be available for purchase October 31, and will ship out the following week.
Now, head on over to check out Lilian's Blog for more Christmas fun!!

Hot Cocoa and Hanukkah

Have you been to the Pink Cat Studio Digital store yet? If not, you are really missing out on some of the cutest images!! Today and every Thursday Melissa will be releasing a number of new images! I've got 2 of the new ones that you can get now. My first card is Lily drinking hot cocoa.
I decided to go for a clean and simple look for my cards and also some non traditional colors. Don't you think she is a cutie? I think one of the fun things about these images are their clothing for the winter. I love to add 3D items such as liquid applique and flowersoft.
Here's a close up of the flowersoft I added to her coat and hood. I wanted to try different colors of flowersoft for her instead of always using white. The only part I used white was for her hood since the colored flowersoft was a bit too much.
My second card is Billy with menorah and dreidel. He is ready to celebrate Hanukkah! I am not Jewish and wasn't too familiar with what a dreidel was, so I googled it and found more info here.
I tried to keep this toward the masculine side and used more neutral colors. Head on over to the Pink Cat Digital Store now to see and get all the other images available this week!
Be sure to stop by tomorrow for the Belles n' Whistles Holiday Blog hop! You really will not want to miss this... believe me!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
